Reaching for the sky with Physics (Hons) programme from The University of Lancashire
- The sky was no limit for our final year students as they sent a high altitude balloon 100,000 ft above the surface of the Earth.
- High altitude balloons can be used for many research purposes. With temperatures of up to minus 60 degrees and a very thin atmosphere, this environment offers a platform to test instruments and materials before making the more expensive journey into space itself.
Accreditation
This course is accredited by the Institute Of Physics, the professional body and learned society for physics in the UK and Ireland. On completion of this course graduates can progress towards Chartered Physicist (Phys) status.
