Film and Television Production from Sacred Heart University, students find their artistic vision in a collaborative environment in which they live and breathe filmmaking.

Key facts

Through hands-on experiences, students land impressive internships allowing them to get jobs in a field they love. SHU faculty members are industry experts and are pleased to work in Connecticut’s only graduate program in film.

Students apply to the dual degree program as incoming first-year students and are admitted directly into the film & television master’s program (FTMA) at the same time as their admission as undergraduate students. Dual degree students are guaranteed a place in the FTMA program provided they continue, as undergraduate students, to meet program-specific criteria to progress into enrollment in the graduate program.

Combined with advisement from their undergraduate academic advisor, participation in activities and programs offered by the School of Communication, Media & the Arts and the graduate program provides strong support toward successful progression into graduate study.

All students who wish to receive academic credit for coursework taken at a foreign university will have to provide a course-by-course evaluation issued by WES, ECE, FIS, TEC or by any other accredited organization listed on NACES. In addition to the course-by-course evaluation, an official description of each university course must be provided in English. The following will be considered an acceptable document:
Certified translation of the course description/syllabus;
English version of the course description issued by the university.
For all non-native English speakers, an official score report of one English language proficiency examination—or acceptable waiver—is required.
