With this Accounting and Business Analysis Undergraduate Program at Virginia Tech we seek to prepare students to enter the accounting and information systems professions with the skills and knowledge of business, information systems, and accounting concepts and practices.

Both Accounting and Information Systems majors provide a fundamental education for careers in public accounting (CPA) firms, large and small corporations, government agencies, or nonprofit organizations. The Accounting & Business Analysis Major (ABA) is designed to provide students with flexibility to combine a core accounting education with a leading-edge specialty in accounting, business analytics, or another discipline. The Accounting & Business Analysis Major allows students to select electives in the field of accounting as well as related disciplines to build a specialized background in Accounting Analytics, Artificial Intelligence & Accounting, Sustainability Accounting, or other emerging areas in accounting. This major also supports traditional corporate accounting careers such as cost accountant, internal auditor, management consultant, budget analyst, etc.The Accounting & Business Analysis major is new, therefore, we cannot provide placement data specifically for this major. However, job placement for Accounting & Information Systems majors has been consistently high regardless of economic factors. Our most recent placement rate is 100%, with median starting salaries in excess of $80,000.

Self-reported Transcript and Academic Record System (STARS). All applicants are encouraged to complete a STARS Record to expedite application processing time. It is very important to complete your STARS Record accurately as it will be compared to your official high school transcripts and exam results prior to enrollment. You are required to include all courses, exams, and grades completed for years 9-11, and all courses or expected exams for year 12/13.

Copies of your secondary school transcripts and all exam results. Alternatively, you may upload to the Common App or your applicant portal, copies of your high school transcripts for years 9-11 and your current classes for year 12/13 as well as any predicted exam results.
