In this Robotics Engineering (with Foundation Year) programme from The University of Lancashire you'll develop the fundamental electronic and mechanical engineering skills you’ll need to become a robotics engineer.

Foundation year degree courses are designed for students who have the ability to study for a degree, but don’t have the necessary formal qualifications to directly enter their chosen Honours degree programme.

This course draws on knowledge from all the necessary strands of engineering. You’ll develop robotic and mechatronic systems for a range of applications including modern manufacturing, aerospace, and the nuclear industry.

What you'll do

You'll gain an understanding of the robotics engineering sector while learning the fundamentals of engineering, mathematics, and the basic academic skills needed to succeed in a degree level course.

The Engineering Innovation Centre enables you to work on real-world projects with commercial partners in state-of-the-art facilities.

You will study analogue and digital electronic systems, mechanics, robotics, mechatronics, microprocessors and microcontrollers, control systems, computer programming.

Future careers

Robotics Engineering could lead to a career within the high-value manufacturing, industrial and commercial sectors, aerospace, the automotive industry, the Ministry of Defence and research development.
