Within this Sports and Recreation Management programme at Franklin Pierce University, you’ll understand the demands of managing a recreation programme/facility or working as part of a sports organization and learn the networking skills you need to be successful. Learning Outcomes

Through a diverse curriculum, students will understand and apply management skills in business as well as sports and recreation.

Students will understand a wide range of sports and recreation operations and facilities by comparing and contrasting community, commercial, therapeutic and outdoor environmental programmes.

Students will gain the ability to apply management skills by examining operational and service strategies through job shadowing, internships, site visits and conversations with professionals in sports and recreation programmes.

Students will understand the legal environment of sports and recreation programmes, including risk management and negligence law.

Students will develop a personal philosophy and professional understanding of the role of sports and recreation in diverse cultures, communities, and the lives of individuals.
