Overview
Key facts
- Political Science from Union University, combination of theory with practice also develops our students' ability to identify problems, possible solutions and their strengths and weaknesses, choose the best option under the circumstances, and then bring people together to advance the common good.
- Our ability to create agents of transformation occurs through small classes, a commitment to experiential learning, and integrating faith with politics. Small classes mean that faculty give students individual attention to improve their intellectual, research, writing, and communication skills. Students solve problems, develop leadership skills, and engage in teamwork through simulations that allow students to run political campaigns, negotiate cease fires, and pass laws in legislative settings.
- Our success can be seen in multiple ways. Our graduates have a 100% acceptance rate into law school, graduate school, and seminary. While our graduates have worked at the White House, Congress, Supreme Court, state legislatures, and state government, most of our students pursue non-political careers. As the figure below shows, Political Science prepare students for many careers including law, business (e.g., analyst, sales, banking, insurance, investments, management), non-profit management/advocacy (e.g., research associate, government consulting/lobbying, non-profit manager), public service (e.g., Congressional aide, military officer, government agency specialist, law enforcement), education, ministry, and health care.
