Overview
Throughout the Civil and Construction Engineering (Hons) course from University of Greenwich you'll build your knowledge step-by-step, studying core civil and construction topics like structural mechanics, hydraulics, geotechnics, materials, and construction management. You'll also tackle emerging challenges to improve humanity and the environment.
Our curriculum is research-informed and delivered by experts who are working on cutting-edge projects. This means you'll be well-prepared for the workplace. The programme aligns with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, focusing on affordable and clean energy, industry innovation and infrastructure, sustainable cities and communities, and climate action.
In your first year, you'll take core civil and construction engineering modules, along with modules common to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and computer engineering programmes. This broadens your understanding of the engineering profession and helps you develop technology integration skills through multi-disciplinary projects.
In the second year, you'll build on the knowledge and skills from the first year by taking essential core modules. By the third year, you'll apply what you've learned to real projects. Design elements are integrated throughout the programme, ensuring you gain practical experience at every stage.
The course is supported by guest experts from the industry and site visits. You'll also have access to state-of-the-art laboratories, including the largest slab test facility in Europe and modern instrumentation like 3D laser scanners for surveying.
