Overview
Information Technology is offered by Fisher College. This curriculum will provide a strong grounding in broad-based fundamental technical knowledge and skills to prepare students for meaningful and productive careers in roles such as Systems and Security Analyst, Network and System Administrators, and Software Developers and Programmers.
Key Facts
We make use of and build on the liberal arts foundation to develop students who have strong analytical skills, and who can think, write, and communicate clearly and effectively. Graduates will be able to combine the applied technical skill learned with an interpersonal/cross-cultural understanding of the diverse global environment in which we live, thus be prepared for their professional careers. Students hone their problem-solving skills, technical and analytical skills through programming projects and technical labs. They build on their understanding of how hardware and software function through a consistent curriculum that continually adds to the student's technical skill set. The Information Technology program focuses on the active involvement of the student in the learning process and the effective application of computer science theory, both accomplished through a proactive program of experiential opportunities. Such tasks as lab simulations, scientific research, team presentations and programming projects in a variety of IT settings allow Fisher students to combine theoretical "classroom" knowledge with practical, real-world experience.
