Overview
The Bachelor of Arts in Geography provides a broad liberal arts education and touches on all aspects of Geography. Study includes a minimum of 33 credit hours in Geography: a core of eighteen hours in regional, physical, human, and statistical geography plus another fifteen hours of electives. Students need to meet the University of Kansas Core requirements and/or requirements set by the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences including a non-English language.
Our Mission
- Geography as an academic discipline studies the spatial dimensions of, and links between, culture, society, and environmental processes.
- The study of Atmospheric Science involves weather and climate and how those affect human activity and life on earth.
- At the University of Kansas, our department's programs work to understand human activity and the physical world. In geography, to understand human actions in specific regional settings, and how these actions affect the physical environments in the past, present and future.
