Environmental Science is offered by Wittenberg University. You will work with our 20+ local partners, award-winning faculty, and engage with the community in environmental problem solving.

Society's actions increasingly affect the natural environment, and our participation in understanding, assessing and minimizing the impact of our actions is critical. Wittenberg's mission, in part, is to create a participatory citizen who recognizes their obligation to the natural environment. The environmental science program features working across fields to address environmental problems. We provide opportunities for our students to engage with more than 30 local agencies that are invested in water, climate, conservation, environmental health and more. Our students plan stream restoration, improve wetland planning, map soil pollution, monitor nuisance and endangered wildlife, and develop recommendations for parks, planners, and policymakers. Our students go on to work in water resources, conservation, ecosystem services, restoration, wildlife management, and community development in private, government, and municipal roles.

General requirements

Certified Secondary and Post-Secondary Records. These records should be certified copies of original official records/transcripts of secondary and post-secondary school work.
Official TOEFL scores of 550 or higher, or TOEFL iBT scores of 79 or higher if your first language is any other than English: You can be exempted from the TOEFL if you score a 600 or higher on the verbal portion of the SAT. We also recognize IELTS scores. To be considered for admission, scores must exceed 6.5.
SAT: combined score of 1050 or higher
ACT: composite of 20 or higher
Two letters of recommendation.
Degree seeking International students must be a minimum age of 17 before they can apply for admission to Wittenberg University. No Student over the age of 22 can apply.
