Overview

United States Military Academy at West Point cadets can choose to be a Russian language major or can combine Russian and another language for a dual language major. Each of these options can be taken as an honors program.

Language majors also work well as part of a double major with another department.

Immersion Opportunities:

Semester Abroad Program (SAP): Spend a semester studying Russian in Latvia, Georgia, Moldova, or Kazakhstan. Military Individual Advanced Development (MIAD): Take part in the NATO-accredited Georgian Mountain Training School in the Caucasus mountains.Academic Individual Advanced Development (AIAD): Travel to Latvia or Georgia to study Russian in an intensive summer language immersion program.
