Program Details
The School of Nursing Honors Program is a co-curricular opportunity for Fall entry BSN students who are interested in becoming scholars and leaders inside and outside of the classroom.
Students will then participate in the Nursing Honors at The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston curriculum and engage with honors program faculty and leadership regularly while working on program-specific activities.

General requirements
- The school considers your cumulative GPA for the RN-BSN program. The school also considers the number of withdrawals and failures on your transcripts.
- We will look at your personal accomplishments, scholastic honors, leadership roles, hardships, cultural experiences, community service, and any extracurricular activities in which you have been involved.
- Applicants must also complete the Personal Statement which is extremely important and carefully reviewed by the admissions committee. Your personal statement should any experience in a health care setting, any academic difficulties you have faced, and how you addressed these challenges, and summarize your strengths and areas needing improvement.
