Overview

The hands-on research component of this Brigham Young University Anthropology Sociocultural Double Major also makes it an excellent choice for students interested in going on to further graduate study in any social science discipline.

The 33 hour sociocultural major is designed to accommodate the varying interests of students from a range of other disciplines. It is only available to students completing an additional major in another field. Its purpose is to allow students with other majors to add the perspectives of anthropology to their research.

Career

Students majoring in sociocultural anthropology will acquire a set of skills that employers find very appealing, including: ability to plan, design, and carry out research; writing skills; cross-cultural understanding; and ability to work effectively in groups.
