The Church Music programme is offered by University of Mary Hardin Baylor. Whether your goal is to move immediately into music ministry after graduation or to continue your studies at a seminary or a graduate school, this degree will give you the foundation of knowledge you need to succeed.

As one of the two oldest Baptist institutions in the state of Texas, UMHB has a strong tradition in Christian music as well in Christian studies. Church music students who participate in choral ensembles have opportunities to participate in choir tours, performing in churches across the U.S. and abroad as well.

There are ample opportunities to serve as a student conductor in campus choral groups and instrumental ensembles, which gives church music students the chance to direct large groups in the playing or singing of music.

The music for weekly Chapel presentations is also student-led, giving you additional ways to use your vocal or instrumental talents in a worship setting.

General requirements

Complete your International Application form online and submit your non-refundable $75 application fee. You can pay when you submit your online application or choose one of our other payment options.

Submit your high school transcripts including proof of program completion, such as a high school diploma or certificate. If you have not already graduated, you should submit proof of your program completion when it is received. Please note that submitted materials should be translated into English.

Submit proof of English Proficiency in the form of a TOEFL or IELTS scorecard. UMHB offers both intermediate and advanced ESOL courses for international students. UMHB does not offer admission for full-time English language study.

Submit proof of current meningitis vaccine or booster.

Submit the required Statement of Understanding. You may also submit the optional FERPA Release Form.

Submit a copy of your passport identification page.
