Overview

Students of the Environmental Geoscience degree from Brigham Young University Idaho take courses related to environmental studies in geology and biology. They discuss the reoccurring issues that press on the environment such as increased demand for natural resources and the impact of natural hazards on populations.

Students prepare to enter a career where they are able to use their scientific knowledge to help clean polluted areas, advise policymakers, or work with industries to reduce waste and follow regulations. Students are prepared to work as an environmental technician or to attend graduate school in Environmental Science or Resource Management.

Cumulative unweighted high school grade point average (GPA).
BYU-Idaho currently operates with a test-optional policy for ACT and SAT in the admissions process. This practice will continue through the application for Winter 2024 at minimum. Students are still encouraged to test and submit scores, as BYU-Idaho uses these scores for placement in freshman-level English and Math courses.
