Overview

The Valdosta State University Workforce Education and Development program with a Workforce Training and Development option is designed for students who are interested in teaching or training in postsecondary settings, including technical institutes and colleges, community colleges, private industries, community and social services agencies, and the military. Students develop and refine their instructional planning, delivery and evaluation skills and rely on their previous work experiences to help prepare them to serve as instructors in their chosen technical fields.

The Valdosta State University Workforce Education and Development program with a Secondary Career-Technical Education option is designed for students who are teaching or planning to teach in career and technical education specialization or healthcare science fields and are employed by a local unit of administration (school system). Graduates of the program who complete the CTE option have the opportunity to become certified to teach students in 6th-12th grade.

The Valdosta State Workforce Education and Development program with a Technical Leadership option is designed for students who are currently completing or who have already completed a state-wide or federally registered apprenticeship program and hold a Journey worker classification.

The Workforce Education and Development option in Human Resource Development is designed for students to gain insight into leadership and work-related skills needed in business or industrial settings, public institutions, and government agencies.
