Overview
The Criminal Justice (Online) degree from University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) is designed to provide a balanced, liberal arts-based education that examines the multidisciplinary nature of criminal justice and the organization and operation of each functional component in the field of criminal justice.
The graduation requirements for a student pursuing a BACJ degree include:
- Complete 120 semester hours with a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher for all coursework.
- Complete a minimum of 39 credit hours of criminal justice core courses, including a minimum of 6 credit hours of criminal justice electives. A minimum of 27 Criminal Justice credit hours must be upper division (3000 or 4000 level). All criminal justice courses applying to the major must be completed with a grade of “C” or better.
- Complete 45 semester hours in upper-division courses. Students may register for upper-division courses if they have met prerequisites or obtained departmental approval.
- Residency: Candidates for the BACJ degree from UCCS must complete the final 30 semester hours of coursework as a student in the School of Public Affairs. At least 12 semester hours must be Criminal Justice courses.
- All courses are 3 credits unless otherwise noted.
- All CJ courses must be completed with a grade of "C" or better
