It upholds the two cornerstones of engineering - science and design - in a meaningful way and provides substantive treatment of humanistic, social, and business factors related to engineering and technology. You will build a resume with relevant experiences to support your future pursuits. You will graduate not only possessing a solid knowledge of engineering, but also a broader business perspective, the tools to communicate effectively, and the ability to solve problems.

WPI’s distinctive undergraduate education combines rigorous theory with hands-on application. From day one, students are engaged in project work, both in and out of the classroom. As a senior capstone project, students in liberal arts & engineering students will work on problems typical of those found at the intersection of these two fields, ensuring they can demonstrate the skills necessary to embark on a successful career.

Curriculum

The Liberal Arts and Engineering degree program from Worcester Polytechnic Institute complements the enterprise and creativity necessary to thrive in today’s multidisciplinary world. This unique program integrates a liberal arts degree with an engineering foundation. In addition to the nine core engineering courses in science and design, you will have the freedom to choose courses from other disciplines, such as medicine, law, public policy, international studies, business, or wherever a solid technical background would provide a competitive edge.
