Overview
Northeastern University’s Bachelor of Science in Finance and Accounting Management program is an accredited degree program built to equip students with the strategies and skills to accelerate their finance and accounting careers by applying academic coursework to real-world projects.
The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB)–accredited curriculum integrates finance, accounting, technology, globalization, sustainability, and the impact of new forms of regulation with experiential learning opportunities in the financial and accounting industries.
Through hands-on courses students develop analytical capabilities empowering them to prepare and interpret financial statements, create and manage budgets, evaluate important metrics and reports, leverage assets, and maximize investments.
By integrating the latest finance and accounting trends with experience-powered learning opportunities - including those designed for working professionals like XN Projects and co-op experiences - this degree program will produce the next generation of knowledgeable, experienced finance and accounting professionals.
Program Objectives
- Entrepreneurship: Complete a strategic management analysis of an entrepreneurship or innovation challenge in a business setting.
- Accountability: Apply the process, tools, and concepts of financial reporting, financial statement analysis, and valuation used by investors and analysts to complete a real-world deliverable.
- Institutional Environment: Examine the foundational principles, concepts, and measurement theories relating to financial reporting and stewardship in both the internal and external environment.
- Global: Assess the structure and functions of the U.S. and international financial markets and institutions.
- Business Ethics: Develop and justify a position and/or an approach to an issue pertaining to business ethics and corporate social responsibility by dissecting a relevant case study
- Relationship Management: Integrate management best practices and tools to analyze a management problem in a given organization or community considering both the institutional and global environments.
