Overview
If you are interested in health issues and the treatment and prevention of disease, our Pharmacy MPharm (Hons) degree course provides the ideal preparation for a career as a pharmacist. Throughout this Pharmacy (Hons) course at Kingston University , you’ll study law, ethics and clinical practice, as well as the role of hospitals, communities, GP practices, care homes and industrial pharmacists in managing the supply of medicines.
Working alongside other future healthcare professionals, you'll talk to patients about their conditions and treatments. Through case studies, you'll learn how chemistry, pharmacology and pharmaceutics affect clinical practice. In Year 4, you'll complete a research-based project, for which you'll receive specialist tuition.
The Clinical Pharmacy module also includes placements in hospitals and community pharmacies. This gives you the chance to apply your academic studies to real situations and experience on-the-job training.

To become a pharmacist you need to:

General requirements
- UCAS tariff points: 120-136
- At least two A Levels, including Chemistry and another science with a minimum of Grade B. Alternatively, a BTEC Extended Diploma in Applied Science: Distinction, Distinction, Distinction (DDD) alongside A-Level Chemistry within a minimum of Grade B.
- GCSE Mathematics and English Language at grade C/4 or above, and an enhanced DBS check and health check are also required.
- Alternatively, we will consider a range of Level 3 qualifications, such as an Access Course in Applied Science. This will need to have been passed with 128 UCAS points. Applicants must also hold an A-Level in Chemistry with a minimum of a grade B. Applications from those who have undertaken a Science foundation year will also be considered.
