The Kingston University support package for estranged students provides financial, accommodation and pastoral support for eligible estranged students through the KU Cares programme.

Description

The support is available through the KU Cares team for students aged 25 or under whose relationship with both parents has permanently broken down. The package includes financial support, accommodation assistance, wellbeing support and guidance from application through to graduation.

Benefits

Non-repayable KU Cares bursary of £1,500 per progressive year of study.

Eligibility

Applicants must:

  • Be aged 25 or under at the time of enrolment.
  • Be assessed as a Home student for fee purposes.
  • Be enrolled on an undergraduate course or a PGCE.
  • Be eligible for the full maintenance loan from Student Finance.
  • Be able to provide evidence that they have been estranged from both parents for a significant period of time.

A letter from a professional person (such as a teacher, lawyer, doctor, therapist or support worker) who can confirm you have no contact with your family

Evidence that you have been assessed as an estranged student for Student Finance purposes
