About International Engineering Program at University of Rhode Island

University of Rhode Island's International Engineering Program program includes a full year studying abroad, which includes a semester of study at one of our partner universities, followed by a 6-month paid professional internship working at an international engineering company or engaged in a research institute in Europe, Latin America, the Caribbean, or Asia.

Upon graduation, students are well prepared to compete in the global marketplace and are highly sought after by employers both in the U.S. and abroad.

Careers

German IEP and Mechanical Engineering alumnus, Shawn Drew returned to campus to recruit students from the German IEP and the German International Business Program as part of the Engineering Tech Fair. Drew, now employed by BMW in Spartanburg, South Carolina, is looking for fresh talent from URI.

This kind of exclusive recruiting event is a unique benefit of the IEP.

Official high school transcript (preferably submitted through the Common Application)

List of senior courses (admission is contingent upon successful completion of all senior course work and graduation from high school)

Official SAT or ACT scores (MUST be sent electronically by the testing services: the URI ID code is 3919 for SAT and 3818 for ACT)

Essay

At least one letter of recommendation (please limit to two). If your school counselor writes your letter of recommendation (which is our preference), there is no need to submit a teacher evaluation/recommendation. Pharmacy applicants are required to provide two letters of recommendation

Admitted students are required to submit a final high school transcript showing proof of graduation by July 15.
