Program Overview

The primary purpose of the B.A. Theater Major from Ohio University, offered through Honors Tutorial College is to serve as preparation for graduate study. Students will receive a degree of Bachelor of Arts from the Honors Tutorial College.

Tutorials

Students are required to complete eight tutorials, including two devoted to the thesis. In addition to the tutorials, the student must complete the Tier I English requirement, all core courses not covered by tutorials, and an appropriate number of approved electives. Internships and/or study abroad may be included within the program with special permission from the director studies. Honor Tutorial students take a minimum of 15 hours per semester.

Opportunities Upon Graduation

Graduates have entered graduate school in areas of theater (acting, design, theater history, playwriting), as well as areas outside theater (law, social work, education). Graduates have also gone on to work in the professional theater and broader entertainment industry, as well as areas outside theater, including education, law and social work.
