Program Overview

The B.Mus. Music Performance - Woodwinds at Ohio University students are prepared to perform repertoire from all periods available to their instrument or voice. Experience in solo, chamber music, and large ensemble performance is required.

The program is a pre-professional course of study that prepares students to pursue advanced graduate degree programs in performance, to engage in professional performance activities, or to establish private teaching studios.

Admission Requirements and Process

For students seeking to study the woodwind instrument, audition requirements include:

Prepare at least one solo of major length. Movements and/or etudes contrasting in tempo and style are desirable.
Demonstrate knowledge of scales and arpeggios.
Advanced solos from state solo and ensemble contest lists are suggested.

Sight reading and aural discrimination skills will also be assessed during your audition.
