Overview
This Mechanical Engineering (Hons) programme at University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) uses our experience of providing a rounded education to graduates. This ensures you’re prepared to work in a range of industrial sectors.
You’ll also develop skills in user needs and business plan development. There’s an optional placement route to spend a year in industry between Year 2 and Year 3.

- UCAS: 104 points at A2 including grade C in A-Level Maths and Physics or STEM
- BTEC Extended Diploma: DMM in Engineering including Merit in Maths units. Please see UCAS for specific unit requirements
- BTEC Diploma: D*D - D*D* in Engineering including Maths units. Please see UCAS for specific unit requirements
- Pass Access Course: 104 points including 15 level 3 credits in Maths and Physics or STEM at Merit
- International Baccalaureate Diploma: Pass with 104 points from Higher Level subjects including Higher Level 5 Maths and Physics or STEM
- T Level: M including Maths and Physics. Please see UCAS for a list of the T Levels we can accept
- IELTS: 6.0 with no component lower than 5.5
- GCSEs: 5 at grade C/4 including Maths and English or equivalent
