In partnership with Temple College, Bachelor of Music coursework is hosted at Mary Alice Marshall Performing Arts Center in Temple. The facility features a 1003 seat auditorium and numerous rehearsal rooms. 

The Music program from Texas A&M University Central Texas provides flexibility in elective coursework while emphasizing performance, musicianship, history, theory, and education.

As a Bachelor of Music major, you will serve as an ambassador of music in the community. Following graduation, you will be prepared for pursuit of a music career or career in a music-related field.

The Bachelor of Music provides student-centered, high-quality, rigorous instruction to build a complete musician in the areas of performance, musicianship, history and theory, and education. The degree offers flexibility with elective courses to pursue innovative music careers of the future. Students serve as ambassadors of music in the community and graduates are prepared for graduate study in Music and the pursuit of music careers or careers in music related fields.

Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 2 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).

Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).

General Requirements

  • Minimum 2.0 cumulative transfer GPA on a 4.0 scale
  • Minimum 30 academic, college-level transferable semester hours
  • Must be eligible to return to all previously attended institutions
  • Applicants pursuing an Applied Science or Aviation Science degree may meet this requirement utilizing select workforce education credit from an approved Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree upon completion of 45 hours, to include all general education courses within the AAS.
