Overview

Students of the Music - Concert Performance program from College of the Canyons must participate in at least one major performing group or activity per semester. Students should select a performing group that fits their performance specialty or interest. All ensembles and Jazz Improvisation classes are repeatable for credit up to 4 times all total.

Key facts:

Music Concert Performance students are required to audition and, once accepted, enroll in Music 189 (Individualized Lessons), to receive instruction on an instrument of their choice. Performance majors will be required to take Music 189 and Music 190 (Applied Performance) for a total of 4 times. Students enrolled in this program will also have to take music theory and musicianship classes to earn the degree and to participate in one of the various instrumental ensembles in residence at the college per semester.

Degree Student Learning Outcome:

Students will be able to apply theoretical music concepts and performance-based skills to produce and to create original music.

Submit the ISP Application Form.
Provide a bank statement dated between 180 days and 60 days from the start of your classes. This bank statement must show, at least, the amount listed on the tuition and fees page for the academic year.
If you are being sponsored by someone outside the U.S. or are sponsoring yourself, submit the Affidavit of Financial Support Form.
Have a licensed physician or medical professional fill out a Freedom From Tuberculosis Form.
Submit proof of completion of secondary education/high school. This may include a graduation certificate, diploma, or transcript.
If you have attended a college or university in the United States, submit transcripts from each college or university. If you wish to apply for college credit from a previous post-secondary institution, you must provide ISP with two official transcripts.
