Overview

In this Education - Elementary Education program from Kansas State University you will learn techniques that are infused with the latest technology and are designed to challenge and inspire elementary-aged students. 

Although classes will be completed online, you will complete a field experience in an accredited elementary school near you. In order to complete the experience at a distance, you will be required to obtain an iPad and video recording technology. 

The combination of these technologies enables real-time and video classroom observations and evaluation, allowing instructors at K-State to review your teaching and provide feedback.

Once you complete the program, you’ll be eligible to apply for an Initial Teaching License for teaching K-6 in the state of Kansas. The license will transfer to other states, although completion of additional tests may be required, and this program is open to students outside of Kansas. 

Careers in Education

Graduates of the education bachelor's degree program will be eligible for a Kansas K-6 teaching licensure, and may be certified to teach ESL.

Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).
