Overview
The Accelerated Second Degree Nursing program from Fairfield University is designed to draw upon your prior education and experience, allowing you to earn a second bachelor’s degree in 15 months. Previous knowledge serves as a foundation for nursing courses as you develop the social awareness, critical thinking skills, aesthetic sensibility and values that prepare you to sit for the NCLEX licensing exam.

Fairfield’s Accelerated Second Degree Nursing program will teach you how to be a great nurse—and a great leader.
The curriculum combines theoretical and clinical components. Each school year, clinical work increases until the majority of time is spent in nursing courses. To ensure that students receive the clinical experience needed, Fairfield has partnerships with many clinical facilities, including hospitals, outpatient departments, rehabilitation and community health centers, public health departments, long-term care facilities, healthcare clinics and the Fairfield University Health Promotion Center.

General requirements
- A Completed Application for Admission Form.
- A Professional Resume
- A Personal Statement (about 500 words) describing your purpose in undertaking a baccalaureate nursing education. Include the factors or experience that led to your decision to pursue a BSN at Fairfield University.
- Official transcripts
- Two Recommendation Forms and Letters, one of which must be, preferably, from a current employer or supervisor. Recommendations are completed online and you will need to enter the email address of your recommender.
- Interviews.
- International transfer students currently in the US with an F-1 Visa and attending another institution must submit the following documentation in addition to the above application requirements 30 days prior to the start of the semester
