Overview

University of Wisconsin Milwaukee offer degree programs in Guitar with a multi-style approach in which students choose a primary and secondary style focus. Classes in composition, technology, world music, pedagogy, and repertoire are designed to prepare students for a versatile career in music, one that may include performing, teaching, recording, and music publishing.

World Class Artists

Since 2005, UWM’s classical guitar student organization has worked to expose students to leading performers. Each year the group invites some of the world’s best touring performers to UWM. After each performance, the visiting performer gives a master class. The student organization also annually applies for a grant with the UWM Student Association to send four students to a guitar festival, such as the Indiana Guitar Festival.
