The flexibility of the Interdisciplinary Studies at Auburn University at Montgomery makes it ideal for students returning to the university to complete a degree or those who have completed significant credit hours at another institution, military service school, or in another degree plan. It is also a perfect fit for students who want to create an individually-tailored course of studies.

Distinct Tracks To Success

The Degree Completion Track provides a focused path to the completion of a bachelor’s degree. An ideal fit for students with more than 75 credit hours.

The Interdisciplinary Concentration allows students to develop both depth within a concentration and breadth across multiple disciplines. An ideal fit for students with fewer than 75 credit hours.

Programme Structure

Concentrations include:

Health Studies

Courses in nursing, anthropology, biology, kinesiology, philosophy, psychology, and sociology.

Law Enforcement

Courses in criminal justice or homeland security and emergency management.

Leadership and Professional Studies

Courses in military science, organizational leadership, and up to 30 credit hours from the College of Business.

Liberal Arts and Social Sciences

Courses in liberal arts (Communications, English, History, International Studies, Music, Philosophy, Religious Studies, Theatre, and Visual Arts) and the social sciences (Anthropology, Criminal Justice, Economics, Military Science, Political Science, Sociology, and Social Work).

Religious Studies

Courses in history, literature, international studies, religious studies, sociology, and philosophy.

General requirements

A completed AUM online application; no application fee.
Your official high school transcript (which should be mailed or e-mailed directly to AUM from your high school) and official English translation if your transcript is not in English.
Proof of English proficiency (unless you are exempt). You can take the TOEFL IBT (minimum 61 points), the IELTS (minimum 5.5 points), PTE (minimum 44), or the TOEFL PBT (minimum 500 points). More information about English proficiency test requirements.
Proof of sufficient financial resources (Bank statement and/or letter from your sponsor in English). The bank statement should show at least $28,625 available.
