At OBU, students will develop their craft in a distinctive Christian liberal arts context. The liberal arts foundation of OBU’s core curriculum gives our students a broad, well-rounded base from which to pursue their writing interests.

Recent OBU grads have been accepted to the prestigious Sewanee Writers’ Conference and gone on to graduate programs in Creative Writing at Ohio State University, Emerson College, George Mason University, University of Central Oklahoma, Texas Tech University and the College of Charleston. Others have pursued careers in the non-profit sector and earned admission to Duke Divinity School and the School of Oriental and African Studies at the University of London.

General requirements

Submit the Undergraduate Admission Application.
Submit an official transcript from every secondary school attended, as well as a certified copy of the results of standardized examinations and of all diplomas or certificates awarded. Your documents need to be translated into English. GPA requirement for Regular Admission is 3.0.
Submit SAT/ACT scores that meet the general standard for admission (ACT – 20, SAT – 1030).
When a student is admitted to Oklahoma Baptist University, they will be sent a letter of acceptance, and then the student will work with the Director of International Students to receive an I-20 (used to obtain a student F-1 visa).
