What Can I Do With A Pre-Optometry Degree?

Optometrists must complete a four-year, Doctor of Optometry degree and obtain a license to practice in a particular state. Students must have a bachelor’s degree before entering an OD program. According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, the median annual pay in 2012 for an optometrist was $97,820. The job outlook through 2022 is expected to rise 24 percent, much faster than the average of all occupations.

  • Unofficial English translated copies of transcripts from all college or universities previously attended. Official transcripts due upon acceptance to Maryville.  
  • Financial certification in two forms is required in English: A letter of support from sponsor and a bank statement from sponsor’s bank account with dollar amounts stated.
