Overview

Artists are called upon to offer their creative input into everything from video production, web design and gaming to education, therapy, and fashion.

To prepare you for this world, St. Thomas Aquinas College’s Visual Art program includes foundational courses in drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, digital media, art history and printmaking, as well as electives based on your personal or career interests. Internships with approved arts organizations are available and encouraged so you can gain hands-on experience and add to your portfolio and resume. Past students have exhibited their work in our own Azarian-McCullough Art Gallery.

Careers

  • You can use your visual art degree in careers in community center programs, museums, art galleries, schools, art therapy settings, fashion, merchandising, film and TV, and advertising. 
  • Your degree will also position you well for graduate study in visual arts and a career as a producing artist.

Programme Structure

  • St. Thomas Aquinas College’s School of Arts & Sciences will make you a stronger, more analytical thinker ready for careers in fields as far ranging as law, medicine, criminal justice, and teaching. Courses in the school will prepare you to be an engaged, informed citizen able to make a real difference in your community, your country, and the world.
  • At STAC, you can work with world-class faculty on research, present at national conferences, build houses in third-world countries, or star in our sold-out musicals. You might even work on real-life forensic investigations, intern at NBC Nightly News, or work with children in local hospitals.

English Language Requirements

  • Have your college counselor send us transcripts from your secondary (high) school
  • Send your SAT or ACT scores to STAC
  • All international students are required to take either the TOEFL , IELTS, or Pearson PTE English language proficiency exam
  • STAC requires at least one letter of recommendation
  • Any student attending secondary (high) school outside of the U.S. must have a transcript evaluation completed by any of the organizations on the NACES membership list
