Overview

The Secondary Education major at the Rockhurst University  with initial teacher certification in grades 9 through 12 prepares you to become a caring educational leader engaged in innovative teaching, collaboration and reflective practice. 

Students in the secondary education major will take a second major in their concentration area: biology, business, chemistry, English, French (K-12), mathematics, physics, social science or Spanish (K-12). Through significant intellectual study and a variety of field and service learning experiences, students will acquire the knowledge, skills and dispositions necessary to instruct diverse learners in a 21st-century classroom.
