When you become a Chemistry major at Queens University of Charlotte, you will be a scientist from day one. You’ll have the opportunity to work with professors on research projects addressing real questions in areas that interest you, like pharmacology, medicine, or forensics. You’ll study the five areas of chemistry: organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, analytical chemistry, physical chemistry and biochemistry.
You can choose from two possible degrees – a bachelor of science (BS) or a bachelor of art (BA). Choose the BS track if you are interested in employment as a chemist, working in research or pursuing graduate studies in chemistry or medicine. Choose the BA track to teach high school chemistry or enter a chemistry-related field like pharmaceuticals or textiles. Our major consists of a curriculum recommended by the American Chemist Society (ACS).
