As a Corporate Communication major at Illinois Dominican University, you’ll prepare to excel on the “people side” of business. You’ll master a wide range of interpersonal, communication and leadership skills that are essential to success in business—and in life.

Overview

Corporate Communication program at Illinois Dominican University examines the key ways organizations connect with their most important constituents—including customers, employees, competitors and the news media. You’ll develop strong business writing and speaking skills; study the subtleties of management, leadership and organizational behavior; and practice the art of communicating within corporations and across cultures.

Learning outcomes

You’ll learn to assess an organization’s communication needs—both internal and external—and to develop effective strategic responses for a variety of audiences. This powerful, relevant, wide-ranging major will prepare you to help organizations convey compelling and authentic corporate identities in an information-driven world. Corporate communication majors can choose among 45 minors, from economics and criminology to informatics and photo-cinema.

General requirements

  • Complete either the Dominican University online application for freshman, transfer or graduate, depending on your status. Freshmen can also apply using the Common Application, which streamlines the college application process for students applying to multiple institutions.
  • Pay a nonrefundable $100.00 application fee.
  • Enrolling students requesting documentation for an F-1 visa must submit a Financial Statement Form (pdf) to the Office of Admission. This is essential for receiving an I-20 and should be submitted along with all other admission documents.
