The English program at the Western State Colorado University will help you to find your voice within Western’s English program. You’ll blend literature, theory and creative writing to foster a community where every written expression and interpretation are valued.

Overview

The English program at the Western State Colorado University is a discipline for those willing to take risks with their interpretations and provide support with text- and theory-based evidence. Students hone their critical-thinking abilities and formulate arguments that reflect independent and original ideas.

An English degree is also an opportunity to gain powerful tools for analyzing literature, culture and society and be challenged to write creatively: all students explore creative writing as both reader and author. English graduates leave the program with a strong ability to write purposefully and effectively.
