Overview
We are a diverse and active department that encourages students to – not only study politics and government – but also to engage it. Presbyterian College courses offer students an opportunity to develop skills to become more engaged citizens and to be successful in their professions.
With these experiences, our students go on to a variety of careers, including law, government service, political advocacy and education, among others.
You can take a wide range of courses in Political Science at Presbyterian College that specialize in American politics, public policy, comparative politics, international relations, or political theory. In class, you and your fellow students will engage in rigorous discussions, simulate court trials and presidential debates, or even practice speech-writing. You’ll have the opportunity to work individually with professors on their research (or yours!).
Key facts:
Our faculty will bring politics and government up close to you. PC students worked in the New Hampshire presidential primaries in both 2000 and 2008, and students engaged in get-out-the-vote activities in Florida in 2004. PC students and alumni worked on both sides of the 2012 elections as website managers, campaign coordinators, and staffers.
