Major requirements
The Biblical and Religious Studies (BRS) program offered by Messiah College is built on a core set of courses that explore various aspects of biblical texts. You will take a wide range of courses on various aspects of biblical text, including Pentateuch, historical books, poetical and wisdom literature, Gospels, Paul and His Letters, and Revelation. You can also choose to concentrate in a specific area of interest to further expand your knowledge in Bible, theology, religion or world Christianity. Because of the flexibility of the BRS major, it also allows you to pursue electives in other departments, choose a double major, or even customize an individual major based on your personal career goals.

General requirements
Applicants must have graduated from an accredited senior high school or the equivalent. Course units from grades nine through twelve should include the following:
- 4 units in academic English
- at least 2 units (preferably 3 or more) in academic mathematics
- at least 2 units (preferably 3 or more) in academic natural science
- 2 or more units in academic social studies
- 2 or more units in foreign language
- 4 units in additional electives.
