The Mission of the Sociology Program is to provide academic excellence fostering students’ critical examination of society. The Sociology programme offered by Park University combines scientific and humanistic perspectives to understand the causes and consequences of the social order and social behaviors.
Applying sociological theories and research methods, students will recognize the significance of power structures, cultural systems, and inequalities creating diverse positions in society. By analyzing and interpreting valid and reliable data and explanations, students will gain the capacity to think rigorously, empirically, critically, and creatively about the interconnections between self and society.
As a student in our Bachelor of Arts in Sociology program, you’ll able to take face-to-face classes at our Parkville, Missouri campus or at one of over 40 campus centers nationwide. You may also take classes online. Students who choose to pursue a minor in sociology may take classes face-to-face in Parkville or online.
