Overview

Foundational mathematics is CBU’s response to California’s urgent need for math teachers. With a degree in foundational mathematics (and a California single-subject teaching credential), students will be qualified to teach all math courses up to, but not including, calculus and AP statistics.

Why study the Foundational Mathematics major at California Baptist University?

Those who enjoy logic puzzles, studying shapes, solving problems and learning how to be a caring and intuitive math teacher will find a perfect fit in CBU’s foundational mathematics program. Graduates will be exempt from the first two parts of the CSET in mathematics and will have completed the prerequisites for a teaching credential.
