As a Union College biomedical engineering major, you will be part of an interdisciplinary program that bridges engineering and the life sciences. 

You will learn to apply engineering principles and analytical approaches to the study of biological systems as you seek to understand how engineering devices and materials are used in biomedical applications.

Academic Requirements

You need the following GPA score:

Required score: 3.3

Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 3.3 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).

Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).

General Requirements

  • Apply online using the Common Application or the Coalition Application.
  • It is recommended that the SAT I or the ACT be submitted by all international applicants.
  • TOEFL or IELTS is required if English is not your first language.
  • Interviews are required for all Chinese citizens and are recommended for all applicants.
  • CSS Profile and Financial Forms are required for all those applying for need-based financial aid.
  • Other requirements: Essay (part of the online application), Official Secondary School Transcripts/Exam Scores, Teacher and Counselor Recommendation Letters.
  • Early Decision applicants must also submit the Early Decision Agreement.
