Key Features

The Bachelor of Environmental Science program of The University of Tampa will prepare students for professional opportunities within the various dimensions of global environmental issues, and how these issues are managed, communicated and improved upon. Awareness of the intersections between these issues are more apparent now than ever, particularly regarding the threat of climate change and how it affects not just the environment, but our economy, society, politics and daily lives.

The B.A. in Environmental Studies curriculum covers all major content areas listed above without specialization. A Minor in Environmental Studies is also offered to complement other degrees, and a Minor in Sustainability is offered to provide perspective on the long-term viability of environmental, social and economic systems.

The B.S. in Environmental Science UT's program is unique in the Florida market in that it is the only environmental studies degree program in the state with multiple degree options, multiple concentrations within those degrees and a focus on experiential environmental education through internships and capstone experiences. Interdisciplinary student teams work together through the capstone experience to find solutions to real-world environmental issues faced by University partners from the Tampa Bay community.

A recommendation written by a counselor, teacher or headmaster.

International students also must furnish proof of available funds to cover their first year of study (including miscellaneous expenses) and each subsequent year.

Upon admission to the University and satisfactory completion of the financial statement, an I-20 form will be sent to applicants from UT’s admissions office.
