Overview
There is also strong foundational preparation for further study at the graduate level. The curriculum of the Bachelor of Dance program of The University of Tampa is built around the concepts of brain-compatible dance education, as developed by Anne Green Gilbert. Courses include dance technique, a series of pedagogy courses, choreography, dance history, dance in world cultures, anatomy and kinesiology, and technical theatre as part of a well-balanced liberal arts curriculum. A required capstone course integrates acquired skills and experiences into a culminating project that emphasizes the practical application of what each student has gained as a result of learning experiences within the program. The program also provides opportunities for internships within the Tampa Bay community.
