The Theatre - Acting program of the Southeast Missouri State University is a professional training program that prepares students for an acting career in theatre, television, and film. Overview

The rigorous training and varied experiences of the Theatre - Acting program of the Southeast Missouri State University provides an excellent foundation for careers in performance, as well as ancillary positions in the industry.

Students train with working professional faculty in advanced Stanislavski technique, while studying movement, voice, stage combat, Shakespeare, television and film.

Faculty work closely with students to prepare for rewarding careers as professionals capable of performing in a variety of styles. Examples of job titles include actor/actress, scenic designer, technical director, costume designer, production assistant, theatre manager and booking manager.

  • Establish relationships with professional actors, directors, casting agents, and theatre companies through summer internships, outside auditions, master classes, theatre festivals and a Senior Showcase in New York City.
