Overview

Our primary focus is to provide a high quality, liberal-arts education, and to prepare our students both for immediate employment and for graduate study. Our students are trained in the use of computers for statistical analysis, and work in clinical and research settings that can later be translated to many business pursuits.

Our Psychology program at the West Chester University is designed to prepare students for lifelong education and participation in an increasingly diverse society, and we encourage research and scholarship by both our students and faculty.

Highlights

Faculty have a variety of research interests from eating disorders to primate behavior. Students may work with faculty on research projects.

Field placements allow students to obtain real world experience before graduation

Our program also prepares students who wish to pursue advanced degrees. WCU offers more than 670 study abroad programs including an option to travel to Rwanda with the Psychology and Anthropology Departments.

This program is designed to provide students with an overview of the culture and natural history of Rwanda with a focus on its primates including great apes and ecotourism in the Gishwati region.
