Overview

This area of study provides a fall back area for students who have decided not to pursue professional programs such as medical school or physical therapy school. Students who have shifted their focus to graduate study in exercise physiology, athletic training or chiropractic would find this to be a suitable field of study.

In basic terms the General Health Sciences option opens up a broad array of professional fields for students upon graduation. The curriculum of the Health Sciences - General Health Sciences program of the Southeast Missouri State University is designed to provide students with a base of knowledge which will allow them to pursue varied interests, including medical sales.

What You'll Do

Take a blend of science courses designed to prepare students for further study in a specialized allied health field

Successful completion of Level 5 of Southeast’s IEP.

English proficiency tests

Diploma from a U.S. high school

Diploma from an international school with U.S. regional accreditation

Diploma from IB curriculum school whose sole medium of instruction is English

Diploma from a non-U.S. high school/secondary education where English language is the sole medium of instruction.

SAT test score of 450 or higher on the Evidence-Based Reading and Writing section.

A score of 21 or better Combined English/Writing score on the ACT Plus Writing test
