Overview
By taking the Psychology at Auburn University at Montgomery you’ll learn to conceptualize problems, evaluate evidence, and defuse potential conflict as you study the underlying causes of human behavior. If you aspire to become a clinical psychologist, AUM’s program will prepare you for graduate school; it’s also good preparation for careers in social work and counseling.
Points of Pride
Megan Traffanstedt, an AUM graduate student, and Dr. Steve Lobello attracted international media interest from organizations like CBS News and the Chicago Tribune with her 2016 article in Clinical Psychological Science questioning the diagnosis of seasonal affective disorder.
Up-to-date curriculum modeled on the American Psychological Association guidelines for undergraduate programs.
Put Your Degree to Work
Note: While salaries vary depending on several factors including your level of experience, education and training, and geography and industry, here is a sampling of the future job growth and salaries in this area.
A psychology degree will prepare you for a range of careers in the community and social science occupations. Employment in these fields is projected to grow faster than the average for all occupations — 10 percent from 2014 to 2024—and most of the job growth will be in healthcare and social assistance. At $41,290, the median annual wage for community and social service occupations in 2014 was higher than the median annual wage for all occupations
