The Environmental and Engineering Geoscience concentration is designed for students wishing to emphasize the engineering and hydrological aspects of geology as they pertain to addressing practical problems in society.

Overview

  • You will learn how Planet Earth works by studying the interactions between the solid Earth, surface sediments, the world’s Oceans and Atmosphere, and the contemporary dynamic processes at the Earth’s surface. The curriculum also focuses on the study of contemporary environmental issues.
The B.S. Environmental Geosciences degree program includes courses from all four of the College's departments – Atmospheric Sciences, Geography, Geology & Geophysics, and Oceanography. It allows you to follow an interdisciplinary theme in your junior and senior years focusing on one of the following:

Funding

Loans:

  • William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan: Freshman are eligible to borrow up to $5500 in Direct Loan funds, with no more than $3500 in Subsidized funds
  • Federal Perkins Loan: $5,500 for each year of undergraduate study. The total amount you can borrow as an undergraduate is $27,500. $8000 for each year of graduate or professional study. The total amount you can borrow as a graduate/professional student is $60,000.
  • Federal Graduate PLUS Loan: Students can borrow up to the financial aid cost of attendance for the academic year.
